Why I Love Living in Utah

This Thanksgiving, Jake and I will have lived in the Salt Lake Valley for 2 years. And while I miss being an "Arizona Saint" I think I have really embraced this Utah culture. Last Saturday I picked up my sister in law and my aunt and we headed to the RS Broadcast. I was filled with gratitude to be here, to live at the base of these beautiful mountains and be so close to the prophet and the apostles. Jake and I went to Conference this morning. The Conference center was all a buzz, people finding and taking their seats, chatting and just enjoying the atmosphere. When the prophet and his counselors walked in everyone stood and there was silence. It was incredible. We listened to Music and the Spoken Word, and then Conference. There was a sweet message...

"In time and with experience we can discover the truth that the more we love others, the more love we have to share. Learning to love is life's greatest labor and deepest joy. C.S. Lewis advised: "Do not waste time bothering whether you 'love' your neighbor; act as if you did. As soon as we do this we find one of the great secrets. When you are behaving as if you loved someone, you will presently come to love him."In other words, we don't need to measure love as if it were in short supply. We need not reserve our love only for those we're comfortable with or those who have shown love to us. Be generous with your love, and you'll never run out of it. Love regenerates itself-it grows by giving.

Love someone this week that doesn't necessarily deserve to be loved. Then tell me about it!
